The Sask
Versatility AQHA Approved Ranch Horse Competition
was a huge success. 22 entries rode hard all
weekend for the $4,250. of added money and tons of
prizes. Championship buckles were awarded in
each division as well as prizes for each individual
class.
The stands were packed for this exciting event.
Sponsors and competitors enjoyed a evening social on
Saturday night with door prizes and draws for the
sponsors. The meal was sponsored by the Sask
Versatility Ranch Horse Committee, our sponsors and
The Burger Barn.
Ellen Thompson was the lucky winner of the Sponsor's
draw which was a gift certificate for Temple Gardens
Mineral Spa, courtesy of the Temple Gardens Mineral
Spa. John McBurney won the competitor's draw
winning a print of Yvette Moore's work, sponsored by
Yvette Moore Gallery.
Numerous other awards were presented throughout the
weekend. 3 special True Grit awards were
awarded to Tracy Campbell, Charlene Berner and Allan
Bakke - all first time competitors in the AQHA
Versatility.
Windmill Greenhouses, Maurice and Sandy Couture
donated tons of flowers which decorated our trail
pattern and the win picture with the new Exiss
trailer.
Moose Jaw Toyota Trailer Sales sponsored a one
year lease of a new Exiss trailer. This
beautiful trailer had all of the sponsors names
lettered on the side along with the logos of our
major sponsors - Moose Jaw Toyota Trailer Sales,
Moose Jaw Exhibition Company and
Clarks Supply and Service.
Thanks to all of our sponsors and
volunteers for the weekend, including Howard Campbell, Barry Clemens,

RESULTS FROM DAY 1
Taylor Douglas and his mare Majors Miss Grand was the winner of the
Ranch Riding class out of 13 AQHA entries. Second was Tuko Two
Wood and Kevin McCutcheon and third was Oh That Boomer Wood and Ian
Whishaw.
First in the amateur out of 7 entries was Kevin McCutcheon and his
stallion Tuko Two Wood and second was Oh That Boomer Wood and Ian
Whishaw.

RESULTS FROM DAY 2
Taylor Douglas and Majors Miss Grand have so far made it a clean sweep by
winning the Ranch Trail and the Ranch Cutting on Day 2. John McBurney is
in second place in the Open after two excellent rides today.
Angela Moore had strong performances today also and is a contender for the
Amateur Championship buckle this year.
Cassidy Bakke and Kaylynn Malmberg have been battling it out for the Youth
Championship and remain tied at this point for the Championship.
A Sponsor and Competitors appreciation social was packed to capacity with over
50 people attending. The meal was prepared by The Burger Barn and was
fantastic. The social was sponsored by The Burger Barn and the SK
Versatility Ranch Horse committee.
Thanks also to Lamontagne Trucking for
sponsoring the trucking for the cattle. Thanks Roy for so generously
supporting our event. Thanks also to Howard Campbell (also a sponsor), Ty
Pole, Mike Cayer and several volunteers for helping with the cattle yesterday.

RESULTS DAY 3
Taylor Douglas and Majors Miss Grand almost
completed a clean sweep by winning 4 out 5 classes over the weekend.
Taylor won the Working Ranch Horse class followed by Tuko Two Wood and Kevin
McCutcheon in second and third was Dan McGrath and Wright Major Chex.
In the Amateur Working Ranch Class, Tuko Two Wood was 1st, 2nd was Anchor
Rocking Art and Angela Moore, 3rd was Garry Boan and Poisons Leo Zero
Youth Working Ranch Class
1) Juan Mighty Sailor - Kaylynn Malmberg
2) Skippa Pasa Lad - Cassidy Bakke
But Dr. Ian Whishaw and Oh That Boomer Wood
ended Taylor's clean sweep when Ian and his mare won the Ranch Conformation
class. 2nd was Anchor Rockin Art and Angela Moore and 3rd was Tuko Two
Wood and Kevin McCutcheon.
In the Amateur, Tuko Two Wood and Kevin McCutcheon was 1st, 2nd was Oh That
Boomer Wood and Dr. Ian Whishaw, 3rd was Garry Boan and Poizons Leo Zero.
